Job Description

Latitude Legal is seeking an experienced (5-15 years) Trade Secrets Litigation Attorney to support a leading regional (East Coast) law firm on a contract engagement. This is a fully remote opportunity for an attorney with significant experience handling complex trade secrets litigation. A background in computer science is preferred but not required.

The firm is seeking a seasoned litigator who can step into an active litigation practice with minimal supervision. The idea candidate will have a background in computer science. The attorney will work alongside experienced partners on sophisticated business disputes involving trade secret misappropriation, employee mobility, unfair competition, restrictive covenants, and related commercial litigation matters. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a nationally recognized litigation team while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote engagement.

What You’ll Do Includes

  • Represent clients in complex trade secrets, restrictive covenant, unfair competition, and related commercial litigation matters
  • Contribute to substantive aspects of cases, including written discovery, document review, depositions, expert discovery, and motion practice
  • Draft dispositive motions, discovery motions, briefs, and other substantive filings
  • Prepare witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial
  • Develop litigation strategy and collaborate closely with partners and litigation teams

Who You Are

  • Attorney with significant experience litigating trade secrets, restrictive covenant, and/or complex commercial litigation matters
  • Demonstrated experience handling substantive discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation
  • A background in computer science is preferred but not required
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
  • Able to manage sophisticated litigation matters with minimal supervision
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working remotely as part of a high-performing litigation team
  • Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Position Details

Type of Role: Contract Engagement

Duration: Approximately six months, with the potential to extend depending on client needs and case activity.

Schedule: Approximately 15–20 hours per week initially. As is common with litigation matters, hours may fluctuate based on the stage of the case and litigation demands, with the potential for increased hours during periods of heightened activity, such as significant motion practice, discovery, or trial preparation.

Compensation

  • Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $260,000 to $312,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
  • Benefits: In addition to salary, Latitude Engaged Professionals are W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401k plan. Benefits-eligible Latitude employees receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D and professional liability insurance. Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
